The study administered the questionnaire to the 180 rice farmers selected through the multistage sampling technique. The analysis of the data was done through descriptive statistics and Probit regression. The study found age, level of education, gender, farm size, farming experience, and farmers’ association influence accessing credit. While the family size and farmer’s income do not influence access to credit. This study recommends credit provider institutions should delegate staff who can guide the farmers on how to fill the request form and explain the requirements in their native language. Also, a free interest loan should adequately be provided to the farmers. Thus, further study should be conducted on factors that affect women's access to credit from financial institutions
